KQHW is seeking existing structures that we can mount next-generation wireless antennas from.

These Small Wireless Facilities are permitted by new laws enacted by the Legislature of the State of Hawaiʻi in 2018.

The antennas would safely emit low power levels that would fall below the processing threshold of the FCC's RF guidelines.

KQHW is licensed by the FCC to provide digital services in East Hawaiʻi County.

We're looking for the following sites:

Mountain View or Volcano

Mountain View or Volcano

We're looking for a site in the upper elevations areas of Puna, preferably above the tree line. The more line-of-site to HPP, the better.

This would likely be a panel antenna, no more than 6 cubic feet in volume to comply with the state codes. A small indoor footprint may be needed for equipment.

We will reimburse you:

  • $120/mo to share your cable/wired broadband internet connection. (We will not be sharing this connection with anyone else)
  • $220/mo for use of electricity.
  • Total: $340/mo
